Nissan of Westbury, located on Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY is seeking to hire one (A) Tech to join us! You will be responsible for performing vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.
This role ensures high-quality workmanship, accurate documentation, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. This is a union-represented position with compensation based on established collective bargaining agreements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on customer and dealership vehicles
- Follow OEM repair procedures, technical bulletins, and established dealership workflow processes
- Document findings, recommended repairs, and labor operations clearly on repair orders
- Communicate with service advisors regarding repair status, parts needs, and time estimates
- Perform road tests to verify repairs when authorized
- Attend required manufacturer and dealership training programs
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and chemical handling requirements.
- Support shop productivity, teamwork, and overall service department performance
- Perform other duties assigned within classification according to union responsibilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Automotive technician experience preferred; manufacturer certification a plus.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and repair information systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
