Accounts Payable

Habberstad Automotive Group, located on Sunrise Hwy, Bay Shore, NY, is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and excellent customer and vendor service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Verify invoices against purchase orders, receipts, and dealership records
• Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks and ACH payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation
• Communicate professionally with vendors regarding invoices, statements, and payment inquiries
• Work closely with our Service, Parts, Sales, and Administrative departments to resolve billing and invoice discrepancies
• Ensure expenses are properly coded to the appropriate department and general ledger account
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures
• Maintain organized electronic and paper accounting files
• Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous accounts payable or accounting experience preferred
• Prior automotive dealership experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining a high level of accuracy
