Inventory Manager

A high-volume Western Suffolk dealer is seeking to hire an Inventory Manager.

We have a large and constantly changing new and pre-owned vehicle inventory, and we need someone who can take ownership of the entire inventory process.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented automotive professional who understands dealership operations and knows how important accurate inventory is to a successful Sales Department.

Responsibilities will include:

• Manage and maintain new and pre-owned vehicle inventory
• Ensure all vehicles are properly entered into the dealership’s inventory system
• Track incoming, in-stock, sold, and dealer-traded vehicles
• Verify VINs, stock numbers, mileage, equipment, and vehicle information
• Coordinate vehicle arrivals and inventory / key placement
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Assist with dealer trades and vehicle transfers
• Coordinate with the Sales, Used Car, Accounting, and Service Departments
• Assist management with inventory reports and audits
• Maintain an organized and accurate inventory process from arrival through delivery
• Perform monthly physical inventory counts

We are looking for someone who has:

• Prior automotive dealership inventory experience preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good computer and data-entry skills
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the position
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment
• A valid driver’s license
