Position Overview

The Automotive Technician is the backbone of technical excellence at Long Island Sports Cars, performing precise diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs that uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and brand prestige.

This role requires deep technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional service experience. Working in close collaboration with Service Consultants, and the Parts Department, the Automotive Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless workflow and the highest standard of vehicle care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review repair assignments from Service Consultants, confirming customer concerns, recalls & updates
  • Conduct thorough vehicle walk-around inspections, documenting mileage, fuel level, and any existing damage
  • Perform diagnostics using OEM systems (e.g., Aston Martin / McLaren portals), verifying concerns and completing multi-point inspections
  • Communicate additional findings to Service Consultants with supporting photos/videos and secure approval before performing repairs
  • Execute repairs per OEM procedures, adhering to torque specifications, fluid levels, and safety protocols, while maintaining vehicle cleanliness
  • Conduct test drives (when applicable) and final diagnostic scans to ensure all issues are resolved and vehicles are returned in pristine condition
  • Document all repairs, parts used and labor story accurately in the DMS/OEM portal, ensure proper parts retention, and submit completed repair orders and keys to Service Consultants
  • Provide Service Consultant with technical clarity and support for client inquiries at delivery
  • Report any workshop equipment in need of repair or maintenance to sustain operational efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace that reflects the dealership’s commitment to excellence

Qualifications

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification in Automotive Repair (A1–A8 series) or equivalent required
  • Manufacturer-specific training or certifications for Mercedes-Benz vehicles preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive diagnostics and repair, preferably with luxury or high-performance vehicles
  • Proficiency with OEM diagnostic systems and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship
  • Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality and a team-first attitude
