Office Manager / Head Bookkeeper
Suffolk County New Car Franchise Dealership is seeking to hire an Office Manager / Head Bookkeeper.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Office Manager/Head Bookkeeper to support the accounting and administrative operations of our automotive dealership. This key role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, processing vehicle deals, managing schedules, and maintaining compliance with manufacturer and lender requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost all vehicle deals and post to accounting accurately and timely
- Prepare and reconcile cleaning schedules, reserve statements, and factory statements
- Process warranty cancellations and ensure proper documentation and refund procedures
- Maintain schedules for commissions, incentives, and internal transactions
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Assist the Controller in supervising office staff and daily accounting functions
- Work closely with sales, service, and finance departments to support operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and dealership policies
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of dealership accounting practices (Dealertrack experience a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
