Sales Manager  / Sub Prime Experience 

 

An Import Dealer located in the Northern Queens / Bronx area is seeking to hire a New Car Sales Manager. 

We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Sales Manager to lead the team. This is a great opportunity to work with a top-performing dealership in one of the busiest automotive markets in the country.

The ideal candidate will also possess demonstrated experience in the subprime credit market, including the ability to assist in structuring transactions and securing lender approvals as needed. A strong working knowledge of subprime lender underwriting, along with the ability to oversee and manage the subprime department, is required.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead coach and motivate the new car sales team to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations of the new car sales department, ensuring compliance with dealership policies and manufacturer standards.
  • Drive new vehicle sales performance through effective inventory management, pricing strategies, and incentive utilization.
  • Work closely with Finance & Insurance to structure deals, maximize profitability, and ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and incentives to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Manage vehicle ordering, allocation, and inventory turn in coordination with manufacturer programs.
  • Review and approve deals to ensure profitability, compliance, and lender requirements.
  • Handle customer escalations professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Recruit, train, and develop sales staff, including onboarding and ongoing performance coaching.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of proven experience as a New Car Sales Manager
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Dealer Track experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the subprime market
  • Bilingual is a plus
